The Opportunity
We are building a small multifunctional technology development function in Bangalore to accelerate delivery of integrated digital products across Design, Sales, Licensing, Production and Finance. We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead / Engineering Manager to lead this pod and ensure we ship reliable, secure and maintainable solutions that scale.
This role sits at the intersection of product, platform and delivery: owning technical direction, delivery quality, and the transition of products from third parties into internal ownership, while developing a high-performing engineering culture.
What You’ll Do
Lead Engineering Delivery & Quality
- Own technical delivery across the Bangalore development pod (planning, build, test, release).
- Set engineering standards (code quality, testing, CI/CD discipline, performance and security).
- Lead estimation, delivery planning and dependency management across product and integration work.
Architecture, Integration & Platform Coherence
- Define and enforce integration patterns between Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central, PLM and the data platform.
- Design scalable service and API patterns for portal and workflow experiences.
- Partner with Leicester-based systems teams to align run/support requirements and operational readiness.
Own the Build-to-Run Handover
- Ensure new systems are supportable: monitoring, logging, runbooks, access control and documentation.
- Drive clean environments and release management practices (change control, rollback approaches, incident learning).
- Reduce third-party dependency by transferring knowledge and establishing internal capability.
Coach & Grow the Team
- Mentor engineers and establish clear expectations, feedback and career development paths.
- Promote pragmatic engineering practices: light-touch where possible, robust where necessary.
- Support recruitment and onboarding; build an accountable, outcome-driven culture.

- Predictable delivery cadence with stable releases and low defect leakage.
- Integration improvements that reduce rekeying/manual work across teams.
- Reduced reliance on third parties for day-to-day changes.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- 10+ years software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a tech lead / engineering management capacity.
- Strong experience delivering web products and integrations in a Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and/or Business Central).
- Hands-on experience with modern web stacks (TypeScript, React, API development) and engineering best practices.
- Proven ability to deliver integrations (APIs, event/workflow orchestration, data flows) across multiple systems.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills; able to translate business outcomes into engineering execution.
- A constant desire to ask why.
Desirable
- Experience with PLM/critical path/compliance systems in apparel, manufacturing or product-based businesses.
- Experience building multi-tenant or external-facing portals with RBAC/authentication.
- Exposure to modern data platforms (Fabric, Dataverse, Lakehouse/Warehouse) and analytics enablement.
Experience operating products in production: observability, incident management and SRE practices.
