Role Purpose
The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for the design, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Business Central.
The role ensures that business processes, workflows, and data integrations operate effectively, supporting commercial operations, financial processes, and decision-making through robust system design and reporting.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Head of IT Operations & Business Systems
Scope of Responsibility
- Operational and functional support of Dynamics 365 and Business Central
- Design and optimisation of workflows and business processes
- Development of reporting solutions using Power BI and SQL
- Support for finance, commercial, and operational teams
- Collaboration with IT and business stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
1. Dynamics 365 & Business Central Systems
- Support and enhance Dynamics 365 and Business Central platforms
- Analyse business requirements and translate into system solutions
- Ensure system integrity, performance, and usability
- Support upgrades, configurations, and enhancements
2. Workflow & Process Optimisation
- Design, implement, and optimise workflows across systems
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Ensure alignment between business processes and system capabilities
- Support automation initiatives
3. Data, Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Write and optimise SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
- Provide insights to support business decision-making
4. Integration & Data Integrity
- Support integrations between Dynamics 365, Business Central, and other systems
- Monitor and resolve data flow issues
- Ensure consistency and integrity of data across platforms
5. Support & Issue Resolution
- Act as escalation point for complex system issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve functional and technical problems
- Work closely with IT teams and vendors
6. Projects & Change Delivery
- Participate in and deliver system-related projects
- Support system changes and enhancements
- Ensure solutions are tested and documented
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Business Central
- Experience with Power BI for reporting and dashboards
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and reporting
- Experience designing and managing workflows
- Understanding of finance and business processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
